  • A decision you can’t seem to make.
  • A relationship that feels stuck.

About Me

Hi, I’m Tonya Marie, founder of Gentling The Giants and a certified Equine Gestalt Coach.

If you’ve ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure what to do next—you’re not alone.

I’ve seen how powerful it can be when someone finally has the space to slow down, look inward, and understand what’s really going on beneath the surface.

That’s the space I create for my clients.

Gentling The Giants was created to offer a different kind of support—one that allows people to reconnect with themselves, find clarity, and move forward without carrying the weight of the past.

Sessions are held in a calm, private setting within driving distance of Burley, Idaho, designed to support reflection, awareness, and meaningful change

Who Equine Gestalt Coaching Is For

You may not have the exact words for what’s wrong.

But you know something isn’t right.

This work is for individuals who:

  • Feel stuck trying to make an important life decision
  • Struggle in relationships—with a partner, child, or family member
  • Are navigating divorce, blended family dynamics, or major life transitions
  • Find themselves reacting in ways they don’t fully understand
  • Carry stress, grief, or past experiences that haven’t been fully resolved
  • Feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure what to do next

If you’ve been trying to think your way through it—but haven’t been able to move forward—this work helps you access something deeper.

A Different Kind of Experience

This work is different than traditional talk therapy.

It’s not about analyzing or fixing you. It’s not about giving you answers.

It’s about creating the space for you to uncover your own.

Through guided conversation and the intuitive presence of horses, you begin to see what’s been just beneath the surface—often the very thing that’s been keeping you stuck.

And once you see it… you can begin to let it go.

Why Horses?

Horses have a unique ability to reflect what’s happening beneath the surface—often before we’re fully aware of it ourselves.

They don’t respond to words. They respond to energy, presence, and emotion.

That reflection creates an opportunity for honest awareness—without judgment, without pressure.

In that space, something shifts.

What once felt unclear begins to make sense. What once felt heavy begins to release.

What a Session Feels Like

Each session is a two-hour, guided experience.

We begin by sitting down and talking through what you’re facing—what feels stuck, unresolved, or unclear.

As we go deeper, the session naturally unfolds.

When you’re ready, we step into the arena with the horse. There’s no riding involved. You can move at your own pace—standing nearby, connecting, or simply being present.

Many clients experience a moment where something clicks.
A realization. A release. A sense of clarity.

By the end of the session, it often feels like you’ve been able to leave something behind—what some describe as “letting it go in the sand.”

What Makes This Work Different

The Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® is a trauma-informed approach that goes beyond surface-level coaching.

It’s rooted in the understanding that unresolved experiences don’t just live in the mind—they’re held in the body.

This work creates the opportunity to:

  • Become aware of what’s been hidden or avoided
  • Experience a physical and emotional release
  • Gain clarity without being told what to do
  • Move forward with a greater sense of peace and understanding

Practitioners are extensively trained not only in the method—but in doing their own personal work as part of the process .

That means you’re working with someone who understands the depth of what you may be experiencing—and knows how to guide you through it.

Ready to Move Forward?

You don’t have to keep carrying what’s been weighing on you.

If you’re ready to understand what’s really going on—and begin moving forward with clarity and confidence—

Are You a Good Fit for Equite Gestalt Coaching?

Process the stress and experiences that come with high-pressure, front-line roles—so what you’ve carried on the job doesn’t continue to impact your life, relationships, and well-being.

Healthcare Workers & Grief Work

Work through the emotional weight of caring for others and experiencing loss—so you can find understanding, release, and a path forward that feels grounded and manageable.

Trauma Survivors

Explore and release what’s been held beneath the surface—so you can move from surviving to truly living again.

Frequently Asked Questions/Answers About Equine Gestalt Coaching

No, not at all. You don’t need to have any experience with horses to benefit from this work. There is no riding involved, and you’ll never be asked to do anything you’re not comfortable with. Most of the work happens through simple presence and interaction at your own pace. The horse responds naturally to energy and emotion, helping bring awareness to what’s happening beneath the surface—without requiring any special skills or experience from you.

Each session is a guided, two-hour experience designed to help you work through something meaningful in your life. We begin with a conversation to explore what you’re facing—whether it’s a decision, a relationship challenge, or something that feels unresolved. From there, we go deeper into the process. When you’re ready, we may move into the arena with the horse. You can engage in whatever way feels comfortable—standing nearby, connecting, or simply observing. Many clients experience a moment of clarity or emotional release during the session, and leave feeling like they’ve been able to “let go” of something they’ve been carrying.

No—this is not therapy, and it does not replace therapy or medical care. Equine Gestalt Coaching is a form of coaching that focuses on awareness, personal insight, and emotional release in the present moment. I do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. Instead, this work creates a safe, supportive space where you can better understand yourself, process what you’ve been carrying, and find your own path forward.
